We will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6pm to create shawls which will be used to support our pastoral-care ministry.

NEW MEN’S GROUP
Several church members have expressed an interest in creating a group that would meet once a month for fellowship. These men want a group that would be for friendship, spiritual direction, and fun. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex, for men who are interested.
THE GOLDEN BEES NEED HEALTH KITS: The Golden Bees need health kits that accompany the sleeping bags they make for the homeless. We need hand towels, wash cloths, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, and Band-Aids to complete the kits. You can also donate extra items, like shampoo or body lotion. As always, thank you for your generous support.
CHANGE IS GOOD! Your generous donations of $$CHANGE$$ will be used to purchase yarn. The Prayer-Shawl Ministry team will CHANGE this yarn into beautiful, comforting prayer shawls that will be distributed by the Care Ministry team to our friends and neighbors who are hospitalized, ill, or shut in. We hope and pray to CHANGE loneliness into comfort; despair into hope; a frown into a smile. We would appreciate any donations of yarn, crochet hooks, and knitting needles. Please drop them off in the church office. We appreciate your anticipated support. Thank you from the Prayer Shawl Ministry!
CHOIR REHEARSALS: Starting Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 7-8:30 p.m., the choir will rehearse for performing during the Offertory on Sundays starting September 12. We invite all members and friends of the United Church of Christ Federated who enjoy singing to please join us. We will have child care available. If you have young children and feel the time frame is too late, please contact Verna Davis at 508-943-2969 or Jim Morrison at 508-943-8165 and the committee will work to adjust the time frame.

NEW BIBLE STUDY THRIVES: Through systematic study of Bible characters and prayer, we have learned how much love and mercy God shows to those who sin but repent and go on to be used by God to do His will lovingly and obediently. We meet in the church office Wednesdays from noon to 2:00 p.m. You are welcome to join our great group. If you want to know what scripture to read, please call Carolyn Foster (508-932-3063) or Verna Davis (508-943-2969).
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY PICTURES: If you would like your children’s pictures from last week’s service to be put on the church’s website, please complete the Minor Child’s Image Release Form (they are in the narthex, right outside the nave). These forms will protect you and permit us to post these wonderful pictures on our web site. If you have any questions, please see Caryl Savard. Thank you for your help!

SCRIP is a very simple concept. Retail stores and restaurants offer discounts on gift cards purchased for use in their establishment. The program generates income for our church through the discount. If you purchase a $50 gift card to purchase your groceries from Shaw’s, you pay the $50, the church receives a percentage back that goes to the operating fund, and you have made a donation to your church without spending any additional money.
Julie Dell’Anna (508-949-2444) and Regina Kontoes (508-943-8034) co-chair the SCRIP program. They have the list of stores and restaurants that are a part of the program. See them in church on Sunday or call them and they will see that you receive a form to fill out and get the gift cards to you. There are also forms in the church office.
