NEWS FROM THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE
We’re busy planning our year ahead. We’ll have our favorites:

PAST OUTREACH
Yearly Project
Each year we as a church support Heifer International. In 2008 with co-chairs Kathy Diamond and MaryAnn White heading the committee, we exceeded our goal of $500 by raising $742. to purchase a heifer which will be given to a needy third world family. Our project was called “change the world.” We ask people to give their loose change for this purpose.
The Giving Tree
Each year people can sign up to shop for a gift for a needy child. This year we distributed
200 gifts.
Pregnant and Parenting Teens Program
We have a baby shower on Mother’s Day that distributes donated items to teen parents in the Webster/Dudley/Oxford area. The Outreach Committee welcomes your help donating gifts or collecting items from willing vendors.
The Deaconate Committee
The deacons are responsible for helping the pastor plan and conduct worship services.
They also are responsible for the spiritual well being of the congregation. Deacons welcome people to worship, set up communion and assist the pastor during special services and at
the monthly worship at Christopher Heights. They visit home bound members and keep the
pastor informed of the needs of the membership.
